Welcome to KATO

The Kent Association of Training Organisations (KATO) represents the major Training Providers in Kent and Medway. It supports the interests of over 60 member organisations who deliver a variety of training programmes, including Apprenticeships, qualifications, traineeships,  bespoke training and business training.

This site provides access to information about KATO members and the range of training programmes they offer.

As a network organisation we:

  • Provides support and information for members, seeks funding opportunities and works collaboratively with members to develop their businesses.
  • Represents its members with AELP and works in partnership with Kent County Council and Medway Council.
  • Works closely with The Education Training Foundation, The Education and Skills Funding Agency and the National Apprenticeship Service to support the national government agenda. KATO also has strong partnerships with JCP, CXK and National Careers Service and district and borough councils through the county.

  • Facilitates workshops and peer review development groups to maintain training quality standards to meet OFSTED requirements.
  • Works closely with schools to promote Apprenticeships and training with employment opportunities in line with raising the participation
  • Promotes workplace learning opportunities to employers throughout the county.
  • Works to support the 16 – 24 youth unemployment agenda

The inaugural Kent and Medway Apprentice Graduation Ceremony  took place on Friday, 4th October.

The event was held at the iconic Rochester Cathedral and over 100 apprentices graduated on the day in the company of their families, their employers and training providers.
